Artist Development Incubator Workshop at The Well (Koinonia)
June 28, 2022 @ 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
$10
The Well (Koinonia / Music Row) is committed to serving the creative community in Nashville, whether that be by providing a comfortable place to meet or work, a break from your studio session, or an ever-important stage on which to perform. With that in mind we are happy to offer the Artist Development Incubator Workshop for songwriters, artists, and industry leaders. Host John J. Thompson brings publishers, artist managers, booking agents, artists, labels, and others together to bring real-world, up-to-the-minute advice and counsel to creatives looking for answers.
This month we officially launch our “membership” program and kick off a full year of intentional, focused, professional conversations with guest John P. Strohm. Mr. Strohm recently served as the President of Rounder Records. Before that he lead the Entertainment division at the lawfirm of Loeb and Loeb. And back in the 90s he was a songwriter and artist himself. We are going to talk about what record labels are doing (or should be doing) today, and what is working and not working. Since independent artists are labels unto themselves we are sure to glean some critical knowledge about what each of us should be doing right now in terms of marketing, distribution, branding, and more. As always, we build in plenty of time for you to make new friends, build some new connections, and establish creative endeavors.
The suggested donation to Music At The Well for each monthly meeting will be $10. Any artist or writer who wants to attend but cannot afford the suggested donation is encouraged to request a scholarship by simply dropping me an email. But – the REAL value kicks in with the BETA version of our Incubator Membership Program. For just $65 you will receive access to 12 months of gatherings PLUS you will be sent audio recordings from each session, and follow-up notes, and will be added to a private group for members only. We plan to offer 2-3 “members only” events throughout the year as well. And even if you missed our first gathering, anyone signing up for the membership will be sent a link to download the audio from last month as well.
