Join us at The Salvation Army – Ray & Joan Kroc Center 6845 University Ave. San Diego, CA. 92115 for an evening of music and conversation. John J. Thompson will talk about “Jesus Music,” and the Jesus Movement that rocked a generation 50 years ago. He’ll bring some records, and likely some friends who were there, and everything will be on the table. Thompson is a featured historian in the Lionsgate film The Jesus Music and served as a historical consultant for the upcoming fictional comedy Electric Jesus, which is a featured selection at the Newport Beach Film Festival. His 2000 book Raised By Wolves served as a reference for both projects. He also has completed an upcoming novel that touches on the power of music to draw people into the power of community, where miraculous things happen. He currently produces and hosts The True Tunes Podcast, which has thus far featured acclaimed interviews with well-known legacy artists such as Amy Grant, Rich Mullins, Larry Norman, and Kevin Max, as well as exciting newcomers Liz Vice, Natalie Bergman, Taylor Leonhardt, and more. Admission is free and donations will be accepted.
